Premarital Coaching

Before You Get Married, Let's Talk About Everything:

A three-session, structured coaching series for couples who want to start strong.

Here is the thing:

Most premarital programs are religious, generic, or both.

This is neither: it's a practical, honest set of conversations about the things that actually determine whether a marriage works: how you communicate, how you fight, how you divide labor, what you expect from each other sexually, whether you're aligned on kids, and what your values look like when they're tested.

You probably agree on the big stuff. This is about the medium stuff, which is where most marriages quietly fall apart. I can help you get ahead of that.

What We Cover

  • Values — shared ones, unshared ones, and which differences are workable

  • Communication — where you are now and how to get better before you need it

  • Conflict — how you fight, how you repair, what patterns are already forming

  • Roommate Sh*t — equitable distribution of labor, money, household logistics; the unglamorous load-bearing wall of marriage

  • Sex — expectations, frequency, what's working, what you haven't said yet

  • Kids (or not) — if yes: when, how, what parenting actually looks like day to day; if no: making sure you're actually aligned

  • All the other things — whatever's sitting in the back of your mind that you haven't brought up yet; we'll get to it

This is coaching, NOT therapy...

I'm not assessing your relationship or diagnosing anything, and I'm not going to tell you whether you should get married (unless there is some question and you really ask!)

I'm a neutral, skilled third party asking the right questions and helping you have the conversations you should be having anyway. It's good to do this with someone who's heard all of this before and isn't going to flinch.

Think of me as your marriage doula: I'm preparing you for the day of and the years after. Very different than taking all your business to your pastor or your most opinionated friend.

<<To check my credentials: Explore this whole site! I've been a marriage coach/counselor for almost 15 years; I'm happily married to my favorite person, and I wrote a book about how to have a healthy relationship. >>

How it works:

We will have three 90-minute sessions, ideally spaced monthly or every other month in the lead-up to the wedding.

That spacing is intentional; it gives you time to actually practice what comes up in each session, and it means I'm also available to help you navigate any acute wedding-planning stress that bleeds into the relationship (because it will).

Sessions are yours to use how you want, but I'm happy to make suggestions. You can also add additional sessions later if you find that three doesn't quite get you where you want to be.

Upfront Investment:

$750 (a $75 savings vs booking three separate 90 minute sessions)
