NEW OFFERING: Women's Groups
I love doing all the group workshoppy things, but there's something really special about putting a group of middle-aged women together in a safe space with strong facilitation and relevant topics...(although we do tend to get off topic now & then, but the detours are always in the service of connection!)
I have hosted three women's groups recently; one about leadership, one about being your own #1, and a follow up (because we didn't get to everything) about basically...how you got where you are today.
Each time, the group is like "Can we do this again?" (literally)
So I said I'd do more regular workshop for women, and added the one on August 1 called "The Myth Of Having It All Together" because in our culture, women are rewarded for appearing fine...whether we really are or not. We are capable, composed, on top of it, etc. We manage other people's comfort with our struggle before we've even processed the struggle ourselves.
This workshop is about the performance of competence, of feeling like you have to have your shit together OR ELSE. We will dig into where it comes from, what it costs, and who we actually are underneath it, taking an honest look at a very well-trained habit and how being the HBIC can sometimes backfire on you. (etc)
This workshop is $145 and 1-4pm. It's a standalone group OR a way for a woman to check out the "women's group vibe" before committing to the BIG THING I am announcing below...!!

SKIP THE SMALL TALK
...For women who are dying in the shallow end
I have long said that I have two speeds: total silence and TELL ME EVERYTHING.
Small talk is my least favorite thing and I am like, extremely bad at it. Honestly, "So what do you do?" might be my least favorite question in the English language (unless you have a really cool career that tells me something about you.)
I hate networking events. I hate big parties where folks are just milling about without structure or assigned seats.
But absolutely I will get into a deep discussion about literally anything with a stranger in the bathroom or in line at a grocery store...or anywhere else.
If any of that resonates, this group is for you.
Skip the Small Talk is a women's group built around honest conversation. I'm talking about the kind most of us only get to after years of friendship, or never. (Even though I personally think we could do it anytime and anywhere!)
Each session has a theme and three hours to actually get somewhere with it. What builds over the six months depends on the specific dynamics of the group, but something will. I am certain of it.
A little background
I've been facilitating women's groups for years and something keeps happening that I didn't plan for: the women stay connected long after the sessions end.
In 2022 I ran a year-long women's cohort and those women are still close friends...in fact, two of them married each other the following year (yes, really!)
After a single three-hour workshop this past May, the women formed a group chat that one participant described as a "love fest" and they're still in it. (So cute!)
Now, that part belongs to the women in the room. I do not initiate nor participate in the group chats or whatever comes organically out of the relationships. But what I can do - what I do really, really well- is create the conditions for real connection to form and then get out of the way.
Why this exists
A lot of women in their 40s and beyond are lonely in ways we don't fully name, or maybe even realize. Not because we lack people...honestly, most of us have full lives, full calendars, school-aged children with activities, and plenty of people who need things from us.
But somewhere in all of that, being truly known by other women got deprioritized. Our college friends moved to various parts of the world. New friendships stayed at the surface, or stalled out when they started to get deeper. Maybe we made some mom friends, but were afraid to be our whole selves for fear of being judged. Or maybe we have a decent group of friends, but those relationships don't get as deep as we want to go.
I built Skip the Small Talk because I know what becomes possible when women have solid, safe opportunities to connect with each other in real and vulnerable ways. I also know how good my own female friendships feel and I want that for everyone!
How it works
Monthly sessions, second Saturdays, September 2026 through February 2027, 1-4pm.
(One exception: February 6th is the first Saturday of the month, moved up to avoid Valentine's Day weekend.)
Here are those dates + topics:
9/12: Comparison and Competition
10/10: Female Friendship
11/14: What We Don't Say
12/12: Perimenopause: The Second Half
1/9: What You're Actually Afraid Of
2/6: What You Actually Want
The group is capped at 12 women as absolute max, and it's only because invariably, 1-3 people can't come each time. So overbooking is ideal. 8-10 is the perfect group size for this!
To Register:
My preference is to have a closed group cohort. There were 10 women on the wait list to have first pass at registration.
NOTE: As of July 1, the people on the waitlist have received the registration info and have until August 1 to complete registration. If there are any seats open after August 1, I will announce them to my mailing list and put a registration link here.
IF it ends up that there aren't 12 women for the cohort, a small number of open seats will be available each month for women who want flexibility or want to try a session before committing. That will be a $145 drop in rate and registration will open the month before.
Not sure but think you might be into it?
Enroll in "The Myth of Having It Together" described above so you can experience the room/vibe/my facilitation before deciding. That one is also $145, with no ongoing commitment required.
As of July 7, there are 3 spots left in that session.
Also, please note that this group is open to anyone over 40 who identifies as a woman or has been socialized in a female body and can relate to this. No TERFS allowed.
If you don't know what a TERF is, google it and then don't be that. While I'm at it, this group will also not be comfortable for anyone conservative because we will cuss and talk explicitly about bodies and sex at some point, I'm sure. If that's not cool with you, this is not the group for you.
